Jacksonville, Fla., (June 15, 2018)Acosta, a full-service sales and marketing agency in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, announced that four of its executives have been named Progressive Grocer 2018 Top Women in Grocery: Kathy Caldwell, Executive Vice President, Client Development; Maura DiMarco, Vice President and Team Leader; Shannon Hodock, Senior Vice President, Client Development; and Shannon Pennington, Senior Vice President, General Manager.

Progressive Grocer’s Top Women in Grocery awards program recognizes the integral role women play across all areas of the dynamic retail food industry within the retailer and supplier communities. The list includes women hailing from some of the most admired organizations in the U.S. supermarket industry. This marks the fourth year Acosta’s executive women were nominated for this prestigious award.

“We are thankful to Progressive Grocer for giving us a platform to recognize and celebrate four of our most outstanding leaders,” said Gary Chartrand, Executive Chairman, President and CEO, of Acosta. “In an industry with a constantly evolving landscape, Kathy, Maura, Shannon and Shannon bring experience, expertise and a commitment to reaching new levels of success for our clients and customers. We are extremely proud of these influential women and the impact they continue to have on both our business and team members across the U.S. and Canada.”

Caldwell was recognized for designing and implementing a first-of-its-kind strategic framework for the company’s Client Development Team. The new competency-based model aims to establish the team as trusted, influential advisers for their clients by taking on a solution-based mindset and, ultimately, driving results. Known for her visionary leadership and desire to deliver maximum value to clients, Caldwell oversees a national team that represents Acosta’s top clients and comprises more than 70 percent of Acosta’s revenue.

DiMarco was honored for her contributions to Acosta’s growth, as 10 of the company’s top 15 clients that saw substantial sales growth in 2017 fell under her leadership and sphere of influence. With a reputation for exceeding the expectations of her clients, customers and colleagues, DiMarco earned a promotion to Vice President and Team Leader and seamlessly transitioned to her new role over the past year.

Hodock was chosen for her superior leadership for which she’s best known for her strategic and collaborative partnership that has now infiltrated the entire Acosta organization. Hodock oversees the management of various client plans and strategies to accelerate growth for top brands and has established herself as the expert in strengthening and improving client relationships. Unmatched in her community involvement, Hodock serves as a mentor to several female co-workers, is a member of the Network of Executive Women and the Steering Committee for the Edison Awards, and a middle school lacrosse teacher.

Pennington was recognized for meeting and exceeding the needs of one of Acosta’s clients, while also seeking out opportunities to increase revenue and sales. Her extensive business experience and strong relationships has established her as a strong partner, liaison and team player over the course of her 11-year career at Acosta. Pennington recently added to her growing list of responsibilities by taking on additional work to help streamline her team and processes. As a result of these changes, Pennington was able to quickly impact the business, helping substantially increase revenue.

The 2018 Top Women in Grocery winners are recognized in the June 2018 issue of Progressive Grocer magazine and will be honored at a networking event and gala awards celebration in November 2018.
