Acosta named Kevin George President, Acosta Marketing Group (AMG), and Chief Marketing Officer effective November 8, 2015. George will report to the President & CEO of Acosta and be responsible for the overall strategy of AMG and its suite of specialized marketing agencies. AMG delivers world-class insights, innovation, shopper marketing, retail, digital and experiential capabilities to clients through integrated marketing solutions and expertise to trigger consumer engagement and accelerate consumer-to shopper conversion. AMG includes agencies such as Mosaic, one of the largest and fastest-growing experiential marketing agencies in North America. George will be based in Chicago, Ill.
Most recently, George served as Global Chief Marketing Officer at Beam Suntory, Inc. As a key member of the executive leadership team, George was responsible for a worldwide team that managed brand marketing, insights, media, digital, social, data, global innovation, pricing and R&D of leading spirits brands such as Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark and Courvoisier.
Previously, George held various senior sales and marketing leadership roles at Unilever for more than a decade. He served as Vice President and General Manager of deodorants and hair care with responsibility for leading and providing a strategic growth vision for a team of more than 200 individuals. As a member of the North American leadership team, George set overall direction and strategy for the company and helped grow the deodorant business revenues for brands such as Axe and Dove significantly. His other roles included Director of Marketing, Director of Customer Marketing, Director of Customer Planning and Strategy, Director of Wal-Mart International and Customer Marketing Manager, Wal-Mart.
George holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from Miami University in Ohio and a master’s in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in California.
