Gary Chartrand
Chairman and CEO
Gary Chartrand has been chairman and CEO of Acosta since
July 1998. He has been the pivotal force behind Acosta's
dramatic transformation into a full-service North American
sales and marketing company, quadrupling the company's geographic
coverage. Chartrand has been with Acosta since 1983 when
he was hired as a business manager. Since then, Chartrand
has served as the company's vice president, regional vice
president of Florida, president, and president and CEO.
Chartrand's consumer products career began with the Carnation
Company where he served in several capacities, culminating
with assistant district manager for Florida. A winner of
the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Award, Chartrand was named
to the Supermarket News Power 50 list in 2003, 2004 and
2005. He currently serves on the board of directors for
Acosta and serves on the Industry Affairs Council of the
Grocery Manufacturers Association/Food Products Association
(GMA/FPA) and as national vice president for the Muscular
Dystrophy Association. Chartrand is a graduate of the University
of New Hampshire.
